with Cary Brooks
|When:||Thursday, July 14th, 6 to 8 pm|
|Where:||University of New Mexico Continuing Education Building|
|1634 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87131 - Room 219|
Just in time for the 48 Hour Film Festival! "VFX Workflow for After Effects and mocha Pro" Join Cary for a demonstration of ways to design, plan and execute a wide variety of VFX shots, from simple object removal to background replacements and set extensions, to full scene compositing. Using Adobe After Effects CC, Mocha Pro, and Adobe Photoshop CC (along with a few other software tools), Cary will show how he tackled various VFX challenges, including shots for Knots, a VFX-heavy indie short film made with a very small budget and even smaller crew.
Bio: Cary Brooks is an independent filmmaker, editor, VFX artist, and photographer. He has been making videos since he was in eighth grade (1983 for those keeping score at home), and earned his BFA from UNM in 1999, with an emphasis on photography and digital media. He has produced, edited and/or directed several short films, educational videos and commercials, most of which managed to require some level of VFX work, and not all of it involving "we'll fix it in post" workarounds.
